Option 1: Add Client in Social Planet, then Import to DEX CM (Recommended)
This is generally the recommended approach if you plan for the client to participate in activities, events, or classes managed within Social Planet.
Process:
Add the client directly into Social Planet.
Later, import the client record from Social Planet into DEX CM.
Benefits:
Seamless Booking: You can immediately book the client into any programs, activities, or events managed by Social Planet.
Centralized Profile: Social Planet becomes the primary record for their contact information, biography, interests, and support needs.
Prevents Duplication Issues: This method streamlines your workflow and helps prevent the creation of duplicate client records if you later need to report their activity to DEX.
Option 2: Add Client Directly into DEX CM
This option might be chosen for quick, one-off DEX reporting where future activity bookings in Social Planet are highly unlikely.
Process:
Add the client directly into DEX CM.
Benefits:
Time-Saving (Initial Entry): It can save a small amount of time during the initial client setup if DEX reporting is the only immediate requirement.
Important Considerations & Drawbacks:
Potential for Duplication: If the client later participates in a Social Planet activity or event, you will need to re-enter their details into Social Planet. When this Social Planet record is then imported into DEX CM for reporting (especially for DEX Community Scoring, which relies on consistent client IDs), it potentially creates a duplicate client entry in DEX CM, complicating data reconciliation and reporting accuracy.
Limited Functionality: Clients added only to DEX CM cannot be booked into Social Planet activities or events.
Manual Reconciliation: If duplicates occur, additional manual effort will be required to resolve them in DEX CM to ensure accurate reporting.
