Auto-generating IDs is crucial for efficiently managing client data in DEX CM because it saves time by eliminating manual entry, ensures data accuracy by guaranteeing unique IDs, and maintains consistency across all records. This streamlined approach minimizes errors and helps in accurate reporting and data linkage.


  1. From the Frontdesk, head to the DEX CM



  1. Go to Account then Team List


  1. Select on the Edit Pencil for the specific Team



  1. In Edit Team, scroll down to the ID Generation section

    • For Case File ID: Under Case File ID Generation Type, select the Auto radio button.

    • For Case Session ID: Under Case Session ID Generation Type, select the Auto radio button

  2. Choose Prefix Type

    • You can select:

    • Default: Uses a standard system prefix.

    • None: No prefix will be added.

    • Custom: Allows you to define your own alphanumeric prefix (e.g., your organization's initials)


  1. Then select Save


When adding a DEX case file or Case Session 

leave the DEX Case ID blank and a code will be auto generated.
